The inventor of a computer lamp, shocked to see his design on display at an office supply store, won $2.1 million in a lawsuit against the company accused of stealing his idea.

“It was a pretty blatant appropriation of Walter’s idea,” Niro said. “But, in this country, big corporations often feel they can do that, and no one will stand up to them. Luckily in this case, Walter and Janice did stand up to them.”
